    Participating Projects The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Marine Accelerator Program (MAP) is a program to advance the capacity of emerging conservation leaders and influencers from Southeast Asia to scale up or expand initiatives that improve regional cooperation and address maritime and inland waterway issues. Thirty-three initiatives were chosen to participate in the MAP, bringing together 62 participants. The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative Marine Accelerator Program has chosen 10 projects to receive US$2,000.00 of seed funding to support their activities in the next six months. BURMA Save Irrawaddy Dolphin Campaign The Save Irrawaddy Dolphin Campaign envisions a future where locals cherish and protect irrawaddy dolphins as a “National Treasure” through full legal and financial support from the Burma government and INGOs. CAMBODIA CyanEcoTech for Waste-Dumping Behavioral Change aims to build engagement and open the conversation about solutions to replace single-use plastics. INDONESIA The Youth Based River School Initiative Program aims to transform environmental awareness into a culture for the community of Banda Aceh. Patharian Movement The Patharian Movement aims to tackle the problem of habitat degradation, especially of black coral, in the area of Manokwari, West Papua, Indonesia. MALAYSIA #DemiLaut aims to establish strategic partnerships to achieve its goal of modernizing traditional fishers towards a sustainable culture. PHILIPPINES Artivism 5.0: All Rivers Lead to the SEA tackles issues surrounding river ecosystem and marine ecosystem degradation, focusing primarily on raising awareness of how human activities directly affect the river and marine ecosystems. Salin PH aims to reduce packaging waste generated by Filipino urban cities. SINGAPORE East Coast Beach Plan started as an initiative to build awareness and motivation for people to tackle plastic pollution. Since then, it has grown to be a community driven platform in which people can organize their own cleanups and share their efforts. THAILAND Refill Station is an (in)convenience store with selected products from sustainable partners that helps make living a low-waste lifestyle easy for the public. TIMOR LESTE Teaching Basic Education on Marine Ecology to the Coastal Community focuses on teaching Basic Ecology and Marine Ecology to school children in the coastal community of Timor-Leste. VIETNAM Green Ocean Campaign is an initiative that aims to limit marine waste pollution by proposing eco-friendly lifestyle solutions for residents and encouraging proper recycling. About YSEALI MAP The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Marine Accelerator Program (MAP) is a program to advance the capacity of emerging conservation leaders and influencers from Southeast Asia to scale up or expand initiatives that improve regional cooperation and address maritime and inland waterway issues, such as illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing; river or marine ecosystem degradation; or marine debris. Successful applicants to the YSEALI MAP will attend a virtual workshop from April-June 2021. Participants will also get a chance to receive up to $2,000 in project grants to scale up and sustain their initiatives.     About Eligibility Themes Timeline and Activities Contact YEAR 5 SOLUTIONS FOR WASTE COLLECTION AND RECYCLING APPLY NOW! IN PARTNERSHIP WITH We're looking for projects that help solve the waste crisis! Now on its fifth year, Reimagine Recycling is once again seeking emerging circular economy initiatives to support through workshops and project funding. This year’s search will focus on grassroots initiatives that develop circular systems, support informal livelihoods, and prevent waste leakage in riverine and marine ecosystems. Successful applicants to Reimagine Recycling Year 5 will attend the Reimagine Recycling Summit in Metro Manila in January 2024 and pitch their projects in person. Selected winners will receive up to PhP500,000.00 from Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines to support implementation of activities. Eligibility ELIGIBILITY Applicants must apply as an organization, association, or group. An organization that can comply with minimum legal documentary requirements to receive funding support (e.g., BIR/DTI registration, official receipts) is ideal but not required. If the organization/group is not legally registered, they can partner with Save Philippine Seas or another legally registered organization that can serve as a fund manager. Each application must have a minimum of two representatives and a maximum of three representatives. Have a completed or existing project that is at least six months old by November 2023. Projects must show potential for replicability, sustainability, and value to its target beneficiaries. Commit to participate in a short online interview and attend the mentorship sessions and project pitching during the Reimagine Recycling Summit. The four-day Summit will be held in Metro Manila in mid-January 2024. The Summit will include workshops, mentorship sessions, and live pitching. Finalists will also get to interact with past Reimagine Recycling grantees. THEMES AND EXAMPLES OF PROJECTS Themes ELIGIBILITY Supporting informal livelihoods Capacity-building opportunities Implementing models of cooperative organizing and community go vernance Improving facilities for workers to safely process collections Social welfare programs for informal waste workers ELIGIBILITY Developing circular systems Providing access to recycling markets and solutions Improving local infrastructure for waste collection, recycling, and disposal facilities Developing roadmaps and strategies for solid waste management and/or circular economy Community-based education and advocacy programs that improve knowledge and practices on recyclable plastics, waste segregation, and collection for recycling are encouraged to be components of the projects.
